Edd Raymond Cole, 69, died in his home Oct. 28, 2010.

He was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Houston and lived most of his life in Odessa. He was in the first graduating class of Permian High School. After high school, he served in the Navy in the mid-1960s and was honorably discharged in 1968.

He was a Boy Scout leader for many years — Troop 74 in Odessa.  He retired from Curtis 1000 Inc. in 2006 after 39 years.

After retirement, he and his wife moved to Burnet near Lake Buchanan. During retirement, he enjoyed boating, fishing, meeting new friends, serving the community and being involved with East Lake Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his wife Gail; brother William Cole and wife Ann; sister Nance Reynolds and husband Mark; sister-in-law Lee Ann Cole; daughter Shawn Stringer and husband Donald; sons Brian Cole and wife Jennifer, and Jay Snocker and wife Jenny; grandchildren Kelsey and Hannah Stringer, Austen and Alysha Cole, and Daniella and Phoebe Snocker; and great-grandson Parker Cavender.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Nancy Cole, and brothers John and Charles Cole.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Oct. 30 at East Lake Fellowship Church, 12318 RR 2341 in Burnet.

Memorial flowers or a donation can be sent to the church.
