James Achie Gibson

James Achie Gibson, 66, of Round Mountain died Oct. 25, 2010. Born July 30, 1944, in Burnet, he was the son of Charlie Leo and Dorothy Pauline (Jones) Gibson.
He graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1961. He spent several years working at Granite Mountain in Marble Falls and at golf courses in Central Texas.
In his later working years he was a ranch hand at the Franke Ranch in Marble Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, reading, spending time with his sons and watching his grandchildren play sports.
He had a relaxed approach to life and brought laughter to everyone around him.
Survivors include his wife Connie; sons Paul Gibson and wife Rene of Leander and Todd Gibson and wife Heather of Round Mountain; stepson Orion Barry and wife Joanna of Burnet; stepdaughter Leah Cavitt and husband Jerry of Midland; brother Scott Gibson and wife Rosalinda of Laredo; sisters LaNora Taylor and husband Dwayne of Fairfield, Jane Jackson and husband Henry of Marble Falls, and Mary Trussell and husband Bobby of San Antonio; grandchildren Annabeth, Ryan, Joseph, Travis, Sydney, Ty, Dylan, Chandler, Jaci, Joslyn, Kayla, Marlee and Alexa; and many other relatives.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Oct. 29 at First Baptist Church, 501 Twelfth St. in Marble Falls, with his nephew Matthew Gibson officiating.
A dinner and gathering of friends and family will be held in Round Mountain following the service.
