Vernell Weed, 91, of Kingsland, died Oct. 9, 2010. She was born April 20, 1919, in San Saba County to Robert Max and Annie Louise (Schneider) Bode. Weed was a lifetime resident of Kingsland and a member of the Kingsland Community Church.

Survivors include daughters Sandra Brown of Bastrop and Shirley Faske and husband Ellis of Kingsland; sisters Pauline Blount and Willie Mae Oestrich, both of Llano, Alice Louise Houston of Kingsland and Alibeth Dietz of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Levi Weed; her parents; one sister; and one brother.

Visitation was Oct. 11 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Oct, 12 at the Kingsland Community Church, 1136 RR 1431 in Kingsland, with the Rev. Tommie Beck officiating.

Burial follows at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet County.

Pallbearers include Jeremy Baumann, Scott Black, Todd Bode, Kenneth Brandenberger and Drace Woods.
