Carolann Wallace, 73, died Oct. 2, 2010, in Austin.

She was born in Los Angeles Jan. 20, 1937, as a 1-pound, 13-ounce premature baby girl fighting for her very life.

Though small in stature, she possessed a tremendously infectious spirit.  She was a role model, a mentor and a rock for her children, the glue that held her family together.

She is remembered as small-framed and big-hearted, a true and remarkable woman of God. She deeply touched every person who was privileged to know her with a genuine love that stemmed from her relationship with Jesus Christ.

In her later years she made many new friends as she interacted with doctors, surgeons, nurses, hospital staff and ambulance drivers.

She remembered everyone that she ever met and carried them in her heart.

Survivors include husband Matthew William Wallace of Marble Falls; children Paula Louise Hoffman and Richard Sprauls of Wishon, Calif., Carmen Alicia Marsili and Mario Marsili of Italy, Carla Pares-Rodriguez and Samuel F. DeLuna of Rockport, and Susan Dozie, Matthew Wallace Jr., Lisa Evans and William, and Daniel Wallace, all of California; grandchildren Beverly, David, Teresa, Pablo, Roger, Peter, Marc, Ronald, Jeremy, Matthew, Wendy, Jennifer, Matthew III, Seth, Breanne, Samuel Ray, Vanessa, Michael, Selena, Scott, James, Devin and Ryan; 40 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Caroline Margarite McVeigh, father Robert Vernon Josephson and son Pedro “Petey” Pares-Rodriguez.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Older Adult Rural Services, an agency that serves the elderly of Burnet County, or to Texas Oncology.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Oct. 9 at Anchor of Hope Church, 906 King Road in Marble Falls, (830) 693-7937.
