Milbra L. Graves, 89, of Buchanan Dam died Oct. 2, 2010. She was born March 2, 1921, in Ace to Lon and Evie Roberts.

She loved her church family at Chapel of the Hills Baptist in Buchanan Dam, where she was a charter member. She worked hard on church growth and scholarships for church students wanting to attend college.

She loved her family, gardening and hunting. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She owned and operated Gazebo Hair Salon in Buchanan Dam for five years.

Survivors include daughter Jeannie Jones and husband Rodell of Buchanan Dam; granddaughters Chana Jones of Buchanan Dam and Chellie Thompson and her husband Troy of Austin; great-granddaughter Lyla Thompson; sister Ann Marsh and husband Dan of Livingston; sister-in-law Barbara Roberts of Jasper; foster sons Rick and J.C. Bradley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Perry Graves; and son Perry Don Graves.

A visitation is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet.

A graveside service is 11 a.m. Oct. 5 in Burnet at Post Mountain Cemetery with Pastor Kevin McDonald officiating.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Chapel of the Hills Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.
