Irene Olivas Aguero, 80, died Sept. 21, 2010. She was born May 21, 1930, in Iraan to Maria (Olivas) and Antonio Martinez. She married Raul Aguero April 18, 1944, in Crane; he preceded her in death June 9, 1996.

She loved to listen to gospel music, read her Bible and care for her grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters Irene Castro of Memphis, Texas, Ramona Garcia of Estellin, Maria Ayala of Kerrville, Audelia Duque of Fredericksburg, Tomasa Ruiz of Llano and Janie Lopez of Cleburne; sons Raul Aguero Jr. of Llano and Margarito Aguero of Brady; 44 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great- great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she also was preceded in death by son Raul Aguero; grandson; parents; four brothers; and a sister.

A rosary was recited Sept. 23 at the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home chapel, 307 E. Sandstone St. in Llano, (325) 247-4300.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Gabriel Uzondu officiating.
Burial will follow at the Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Daniel Ray Castro, Henry Travis Duong, Felix Sanchez, Alfredo Duque, Jonathan Rodriguz and Leandro De La Cruz Jr.
