Tribune Headline News hits the airwaves
HIGHLAND LAKES — The news revolution has started — Tribune Headline News is now airing on Northland Communications cable channel 15 featuring your local news, your local sports, your local weather and your local programming.
"It’s online and on TV," announced Amber Alvey Weems, the president of Victory Publishing Co. Ltd., which produces THN and its network, The Picayune TV.
Other programming includes The Pressbox sports show; Extra Credit about local student activities; and more to come.
"This is truly a milestone. No one else is doing anything like this in the Highland Lakes," said Editor Thomas Edwards, who oversees news coverage for Victory.
Launched two years ago on the Web as part of www.thepicayunetv.com, the newscast and other shows will still be available online.
Victory is a family-owned company based in Marble Falls, and started 20 years ago with the creation of The Picayune newspaper by Dan and Lee Alvey.
