Kikue Nozawa Wolber, 76, died Sept. 4, 2010. She was born in Tochigi Province in Japan Jan. 8, 1934.

She met Army Sgt. Marion W. Wolber in 1960 and they married May 20, 1963, in Tokyo.

In 1965 she left her native Japan and she and her husband moved to Lampasas. The decision to leave her country and her parents, brothers and sisters was a hard one.

The couple lived in Bozeman, Mont., for a short time and then settled in Burnet after her husband retired from the Army. He was her soul mate who loved her very much.

After he died in 1981, she visited Japan and returned to live in Burnet because she very much loved this country.

Survivors include sisters Kazuko Yokota and Sumie Shiina, both of Japan; nieces Akiko Yokota, Manami Nozawa, Akihito Shiina, Tetsuya Shiina, Junko Shiina, Reiko Takizawa, Masaru Nozawa and Monica M. Nozawa, all of Japan, Sonia T. Nozawa, Monica M. Nowaza and Sandra L. S. Nozawa, all of Brazil, and Esmeralda Groom of Brazoria; nephews Takeshi Yokota and Isao Nozawa, both of Japan, Alexandre Y. Nozawa of Brazil, Yesukai Benayon of Lake Jackson and David Benayon of Houston; sisters-in-law Rumiko Nozawa and Hiroko Nozawa, both of Japan, Yukiko Nozawa of Brazil and Aglais Wolber of Lake Jackson; brothers-in-law Mikio Shiina of Japan and Philip Wolber of Lake Jackson; brother Hiroshi Nozawa of Brazil; and cousin Carolina Y. N. Kokubun of Brazil.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father Yone Nozawa; mother Tane Nozawa; brother Toshio Nozawa; father-in-law R. E. Wolber; mother-in-law Sally D. Wolber; and sister-in-law Amelia Wolber.

A private graveside service and burial were held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
