Ethel Wayne Sayles, 89, of Marble Falls died Sept. 17, 2010. Born March 30, 1921, in Marble Falls, she was the daughter of Wesley “Bud” and Mattie Pearl (Phinney) Lewis.

She was a life member of Hermann Sons and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include sons Alvin Wayne Penny and wife Fran of Billings,  Mont., James Carroll Penny and wife Linda of Mexia, and Larry Wood Penny and Sidney Merrel Sayles, both of Marble Falls; daughters Linda Sue Colquitt of New Waverly and Debbie Sayles Knier and husband Terry of Marble Falls; grandchildren Denise Penny, Brenda Papelka, Brian Penny and wife Danielle, Mike Penny and wife Jeri, Jimmy Penny and wife Teresa, Alesha Verm and husband Troy, Kenneth Hutto and wife Tracy, Tammy Robison and husband Jeffrey, Rae Sizemore, Stephanie Dunn, Christopher Penny and wife Laura and Lynzi Knier; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Wesley Lewis and wife Laverne of Spring; sister Fay Wagenfuhr of Marble Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merrel E. Sayles; and brother Henry Earl Lewis.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sept. 20 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. Sept. 21 at the funeral home with the reverends Max Copeland and Randy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mike Penny, Jimmy Penny, Kenneth Hutto, Jeffrey Robison, Jacob Robison, Colton Robison and Chris Penny.
