Eugenia “Genie” Coverstone
Eugenia “Genie” Coverstone, 92, died Sept. 10, 2010, in Burnet. She was born on June 25, 1918, in Salem, Ill., to Walter and Florence (Crossett) Donahue.
She married Doyt F. Coverstone on Sept. 19, 1944, at the Greenville Air Corps Base in Greenville, S.C. They were married 61 years.
Their retirement was spent in the Kingsland and Marble Falls areas.
She was a longtime member of the dance group The Kingsland Flappers, and continued to perform solo routines until her death. She was a past officer of the Highland Lakes Social Club, and faithfully attended meetings and continued to model in the club’s fashion shows.
She lived in Kingsland and was a member of the Kingsland Community Church.
Survivors include sons Mark Coverstone and his wife Margo of Durant, Okla., and Kirk Coverstone and wife Amelia of San Antonio; daughter Carole Thomas of Austin; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband June 2, 2006; and brothers William Donahue and Don Donahue.
A service is 2 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Kingsland Community Church, 1136 RR 1431 West in Kingsland.
