Lu Ell Schooley, 90, of Burnet died June 18, 2010. She was born Feb. 17, 1920, in the Lake Victor Community to A. H. and Ollie James Traweek.

She graduated as the valedictorian from Lake Victor High School in 1938. She married LeRoy Schooley in 1939 and they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Burnet and served there as a nursery attendant for more than 20 years. She was a Pink Lady volunteer with Seton Family of Hospitals at the old location and at the new one for a combined 20 years.

Survivors include son Lamar Schooley of Burnet; daughter Donna Daricek and son-in-law Buck of Burnet; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Margie Schooley of Burnet; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; her daughter-in-law Carrie Schooley; sister Alene Garrett; sister-in-law Billie Lynn Tweety; brother Bub Traweek; and sister-in-law Faye Traweek.

A service was June 20 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Ricky Guenther officiating.

Interment followed at Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet.

Memorials may be given to the church.
