Kim A. Boulden, 61, of Kingsland died June 19, 2010, at his home.

He served in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was gifted in construction and was a member of the San Antonio Associated General Contractors, and was responsible for creating 18,000 miles of fiber-optic communication cable from the East to the West coasts and Canada to Mexico.

He was an avid hunter; nature was his cathedral and he thanked God for each beautiful day.

He was known by his grandchildren as "Grumpy."

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ann Boulden of Kingsland; son Kelly Allan Boulden and his wife Jenny of Tyler; daughter Theresa Gordon of Plano; grandchildren Sydnie Boulden, Lilly Boulden and Olivia Weir, all of Tyler, and Jade Gordon and Lacey Gordon, both of Plano; sisters Julie  and Megan of Wisconsin; brother Stephen Boulden of Wisconsin; numerous other relatives; and his faithful companion Maggie, a chocolate Labrador retriever.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. June 24 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 105 RR 1431 East in Marble Falls, with Deacon Patrick Kennedy officiating.

Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Pallbearers include Robin Lohman, Brian O’Shea, Richard Keese, Tim Goggins, Bill Bray and Kelly Boulden.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Juliette Madrigal-Dersch and her staff and Dr. J Dudley Youman  of Texas Oncology and his staff including Sue, Elsa, Carla and Crystal.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that everyone over the age of 45 have a colonoscopy. Donations may also be made to LiveStrong Foundation in Austin.
