Marion Louise Howard
Marion Louise Howard, 89, died May 29, 2010, in Athens, Texas. She was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Snyder to Aaron and Alma Hamer Cumbie.
She had lived in the Granite Shoals prior to moving to Athens.
She was a member of the Granite Shoals Baptist Church, was a wonderful cook who made holidays special for family members and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She loved playing cards.
She also was the mother of five children and stepmother of two.
Survivors include her son Ted Atkins of Granite Shoals and Daniel Pitts and wife Candi of Houston; daughters Margie Campbell and husband Jim of Brownwood, and Midge Hart of Athens; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters Grace Adwell of Fort Worth and Connie Ratliff of Elkhart, Kan.
A visitation is 4-7 p.m. June 9 at the Putnam Funeral Home & Crematory, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. June 10 with the Rev. Jack H. Whyburn officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Burnet.
Donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
