Jim Slusser
Jim Slusser, 81, of Burnet died May 20, 2010. He was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Wakarusa, Kan., the son of David Slusser and Maude Phillips.
His world centered around his grandchildren and he enjoyed bargain hunting at flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores. He loved road trips and taking the back roads whenever possible while enjoying the scenery.
Anyone who visited his home would know he was an avid fan of “The Flintstones.” From ties to plates, he collected all kinds of memorabilia from the Hanna-Barbera Productions cartoon classic.
He had worked at the power plant at The University of Texas and was enjoying retirement.
Survivors include his wife Charlene Slusser of Burnet; daughters and their husbands Sharon and George Patrick of Austin, and Sandy and Rick Grimes of Wimberley; son Shannon Slusser of Del Valle; grandchildren Ross, Stacy, Jacob, Sarah, Christine, Christopher, Serena, Samantha, Ethan and Bud; and great-grandson Lex Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers David, Charles and John; son Michael; and son-in-law Joe.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. May 22 at the Nix Cemetery in Lampasas with the Rev. Bobby Isbell officiating.
The family thanks The Lighthouse Altenheim for their support. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to them.
