Scottie Dale Lester

Scottie Dale Lester, 55, of Lake Victor died April 20, 2010.
He was born May 18, 1954, in Austin to Walter Olive and Nira Nora (Bess) Lester.
Because his parents were deaf and mute, at the age of 10 he took on the responsibility of caring for his parents and helping to raise his younger brothers. Family members said he always selflessly offered a helping hand, was somewhat shy, very smart and very humorous at times.
He designed and built his home from the ground up, and left it for his wife and son. He was a rancher and recently completed a barn with the help of his brothers.
He retired as a stone setter from Cold Spring Granite after 25 years of service. For the past three years, he was able to dedicate his time to his family.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Lester of Lake Victor; son Walter Lester of Lake Victor; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Brendita Lester of Marble Falls and Rhonnie and Paula Lester of Devine; nephew, R.J. Lester of Hobbs, N.M. and “adopted” parents, Fred and Billie Jean Holland of Marble Falls. He is also survived by other relatives and close friends.
Visitation is Saturday, April 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls. Funeral services are Sunday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Rocky Moncus officiating. Interment will follow at Fairland Cemetery.
