HIGHLAND LAKES — Local governments and schools will get an early start on Easter, with most offices and campuses closed for Good Friday on April 2.

County offices in Burnet and Llano counties will be closed for the holiday, along with city offices in Marble Falls, Burnet, Granite Shoals, Horseshoe Bay, Meadowlakes, Bertram and Cottonwood Shores, officials said.

Schools in the Marble Falls Independent School District, Burnet Consolidated Independent School District and Llano ISD also will be closed for the holiday.

All public libraries in Burnet and Llano counties also will be closed that day.

State offices will be open on a case-by-case basis, while all federal offices and post offices will remain open.

Most local banks also will be open, and mail delivery and garbage pickup services  will run as usual, officials said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety Drivers License Division offices will close at noon Friday and reopen at regularly scheduled times Monday.

Customers can still go online for some transactions. By logging onto www.texasonline.gov, customers can see if they are eligible for online services such as drivers license and ID card renewals and address changes.

Meanwhile, normal city and county government office hours will resume Monday.
