Perry appoints former Burnet County commissioner to law enforcement panel
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed former Burnet County Commissioner James Oakley to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
Oakley’s term expires Aug. 30, 2011. He lives in Spicewood.
The board oversees law enforcement and corrections personnel through screening, developing and monitoring resources and setting standards.
Oakley is also the Texas representative for GovDeals.com.
He is a past member of the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Study Committee on Rock Crushers and Quarries, and the Capital Area Regional Review Committee.
Oakley received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas State University.
