Big drug bust at Marble Falls home

Law enforcement arrested (top, from left) Mary Jowers, 48, Alex Monzon, 21, (bottom, from left) Alyssa Presa, 24, and Raul Vasquez, 20, at a Marble Falls home Feb. 7 on various charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a dangerous drug.

Marble Falls police arrested four people on drug-related charges Feb. 7 during a SWAT-assisted search of a home in the 1500 block of Sixth Street.

The officers entered the house with a search warrant at 6 a.m. Friday alongside a SWAT team from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The arrests were rooted in evidence gathered from a Jan. 31 traffic stop that led the MFPD to believe large amounts of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and cash could be found at the Sixth Street home.

Police charged 21-year-old Alex Monzon, 24-year-old Alyssa Presa, 20-year-old Raul Vasquez, and 48-year-old Mary Jowers, all Marble Falls residents, with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a dangerous drug.

“(Serving the warrant) was smooth; nobody was harmed,” Marble Falls Police Department Capt. James Cole told DailyTrib.com.

The traffic stop that began the investigation uncovered a significant amount of drugs and cash in the vehicle, leading to a search warrant on the occupants’ cellphones and ultimately the warrant for the Friday bust.

“It is becoming, unfortunately, more common with drugs,” Cole said.

A DPS SWAT team was brought in to help serve the warrant for the added skill, safety, training, and equipment, Cole said.

  1. Obviously, the raid was a dud or they would have released amounts seized, pictures, etc. This was a waste of time and resources for the DPS.
