The Hill Country Community Theatre is holding open auditions on Oct. 3 and 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for its holiday production of “A Tuna Christmas.” The play runs Dec. 2-18 on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons at the nonprofit theater, 4003 FM 2147 in Cottonwood Shores.

All audition materials will be provided. Director Daniel Melton will be casting two to four men.

The comedy by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard takes place in Tuna, the third-smallest town in Texas. Radio station personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on holiday activities, including the heated competition in the annual yard display contest and a mysterious “Christmas Phantom” vandalizing the displays, which threatens to throw the contest into turmoil. Also in jeopardy is Joe Bob Lipsey’s production of “A Christmas Carol” because of unpaid electric bills.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Nov. 23. Visit the Hill Country Community Theatre’s website for more on the 2022-23 season, which includes “Always … Patsy Cline,” opening Sept. 23.
