GOP Picnic and Burnet County Republican Women’s meeting coming up
Burnet County Republicans have two upcoming events: the annual GOP Picnic on Sept. 11 and the Burnet County Republican Women’s meeting on Sept. 8.
The picnic is from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Bill’s Burgers, 306 W. Polk St. in Burnet. The public is invited.
Featured speakers include U.S. Reps. John Carter and Roger Williams; Ellen Troxclair, GOP candidate for state representative for District 19; Pete Flores, GOP candidate for state senator for District 24; and Lesli Fitzpatrick, GOP candidate for Place 4 justice on the Third Court of Appeals. The event also will have a surprise guest.
The 9/11 terrorist attacks will be remembered in a ceremony by a local Honor Guard.
Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online or at the door.
REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S MEETING
The Burnet County Republican Women will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Reed Building, 402 Jackson St. in Burnet. Guests are welcome.
Melissa Conway, the Republican National Committee’s state director for Texas Election Integrity, is the speaker. Lunch is $15. Yard signs will be available.
Conway has more than 25 years of grassroots leadership experience directly influencing key opinion leaders, advancing legislative priorities, and strategically executing political, public relations, and polity strategies on the local, state, and national levels, according to a Burnet County Republican Women media release about the meeting.
Members and guests are encouraged to bring H-E-B gift cards or cans of pinto beans, tuna, yams as well as sugar, flour, cooking oil, or boxed meals to be donated to The Helping Center of Marble Falls as the group’s September Caring for America community project.
