Filing begins Jan. 18 for PEC board of directors election

The filing period for the Pedernales Electric Cooperative board of directors election is Monday, Jan. 18, through March 22. Voting begins May 19 and ends June 11 at 5 p.m. Districts 1, 6, and 7 are on the ballot.

Up for re-election, should they choose to apply, are Milton Rister for District 1, Paul Graf for District 6, and Amy Lea SJ Akers for District 7.

Directors serve three-year terms. Election results are released on June 15 to candidates, the board of directors, and membership.

Candidates must submit a petition form listing at least 50 verifiable signatures of PEC members with voting residence within the director district for which that candidate is seeking nomination.

A member’s district is determined by the location of their primary PEC account. The voting district is printed on a member’s bill in the upper-right corner. If a member has an additional account in another district, they may change districts by request once every three years.

For details on this and other eligibility requirements, visit the PEC page on Elections and Voting.
