Free COVID-19 testing will take place at Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls starting Jan. 19. The site is moving from the Marble Falls Fire Rescue station.

Testing will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 11 at the pavilion, 307 Buena Vista Drive. It is a walk-up site; no appointment, symptoms, or a physician’s order are necessary. Results for the curative, or cheek swab, test usually come back in 24-48 hours.

Registration information is on the Marble Falls Fire Rescue webpage

Officials encourage people to arrive early at the testing site to avoid being turned away if they are not at a certain point in line by 1:30 p.m. This is to ensure testing is completed that day in time to get results back to people as quickly as possible.

Though a vaccine is now available, supplies are limited. Preventing the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 is the best way to fight it. Those testing positive can self-isolate as well as alert others with whom they’ve been in contact.

“There is still a need for testing in our community,” said Marble Falls Fire Rescue Chief Russell Sander, who is also the city’s emergency management coordinator. “We are doing our best to meet those needs.”

For more information about this testing site, call 830-693-4060. For other testing locations, visit the Texas Department of Emergency Management website.

The city of Marble Falls, the Marble Falls Office of Emergency Management, and the TDEM are sponsoring these tests.
