BURNET — City and school officials will host an upcoming State of the Community address, featuring public leaders reflecting on the past year’s accomplishments and providing insight into future policies and projects.

Burnet’s State of the Community event is 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Burnet Community Center, 401 E. Jackson St.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A free lunch will be served.

The city of Burnet has conducted the luncheon for the past decade, and six years ago, Burnet Consolidated Independent School District officials joined the event for a combined address to offer a more comprehensive view of the community.

“Representatives from city and school district programs and departments will be on hand to provide information, answer questions, or just say hello to the citizens they serve,” Burnet Mayor Crista Bromley said in a statement. “(The address) provides an opportunity for policy makers, citizens, and other stakeholders to connect and to focus on key community issues.”

Also, Burnet residents will have another chance to hear about the state of the city with a quarterly event started last year.

The next Breakfast with the Mayor of Burnet is 8-9 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Delaware Springs Municipal Golf Course Clubhouse, 600 Delaware Springs Blvd.
