Buchanan Dam man charged in sexual assault of child, attack on adult

BUCHANAN DAM — Llano County authorities are investigating a Buchanan Dam man on charges he assaulted an adult using a knife and sexually assaulted a child at the same residence in mid-July, according to the report.

William “Willie” Canchola, 30, is being held in the Burnet County Jail on $150,000 surety bonds in connection with the cases.

“He was already in jail for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (since July 18) when the warrant came in for the aggravated sexual assault of a child,” said Capt. Glen Williams of the Llano County Sheriff’s Office.

The child involved is under the age of 14.

Authorities would not disclose the location of the alleged assault pending further investigation and protection of the identity of the child.

Despite the incidents being at the same residence, the cases are “unrelated,” Williams said.

Canchola also has a warrant for his arrest from Crane County on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to jail records.
