BLANCO — A 50-year-old man remains in custody after firing at least two shots at law enforcement during a brief domestic violence call just east of Blanco, authorities say.
The incident, which was reported as a “domestic disturbance,” happened just before 8 p.m. Aug. 10 at a residence in the 400 block of Whitmire Drive.
Arturo Cisneros, 50, of Blanco County faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant.
“After deputies arrived, the man at the residence confronted officers with a gun and fired one shot,” according to the Blanco County Sheriff’s Office statement. “Family members were moved to safety while officers secured the perimeter.”
Investigators activated the Hays County/San Marcos Tactical Team and were assisted by area agencies, including the Blanco and Johnson City police departments and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
“Negotiators attempted to convince the man to surrender, but he repeatedly refused,” the report stated. “The tactical team approached the residence, and the man fired another shot before being taken into custody by the team.”
No family members or officers were injured.
