Llano County home with murder and arson past raided, meth seized

LLANO COUNTY — Authorities arrested a 51-year-old woman found with a large quantity of methamphetamines on a property where investigations into past incidents of arson, murder and suicide have occurred, according to reports.

On June 30, Llano County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Dianne Luce Brewer after serving a search warrant at 529 CR 316 in Llano County.

Investigators found 60 grams of methamphetamines that evening, the report stated.

“That’s about two ounces. That’s more than what we usually find,” Lt. Investigator Glen Williams said. “She was the only one on the property.”

Brewer faces a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and remains in the Llano County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

In May 2004, investigators found the body of 41-year-old Nancy Brewer in a burned room in a house on the same property.

Her then-16-year-old son, Brandon Brewer, was charged as an adult with arson and murder.

Court documents stated that Brandon Brewer alleged the victim tried to attack him with a knife.

Prosecutors say he shot and killed her and tried to cover up the crime with arson.

A Llano County jury convicted him, and he received 30 years in prison for the arson and a 60-year sentence on the murder charge, to be served concurrently.

In August 2015, 50-year-old Gary Brewer, the murder victim’s husband, committed suicide.

The house has since been removed, but a cabin with an added structure remains on the property where authorities launched the most recent investigation into the drug case.

The Burnet County Special Operations Unit, the Sunrise Beach Police Department and ATF agents assisted with the search warrant.
