LLANO — After more than two weeks of hearing testimony in the murder trial of Karra Trichele Allen, a Llano County jury took about 20 minutes to return a guilty verdict just before noon June 2.
Less than five hours later, that same jury sentenced her to life in prison.
The jury convicted the 44-year-old woman in the murder of her husband, 38-year-old Brian Dean Allen. Authorities found the body of the man on the night of July 1, 2013, at the couple’s residence in the 1400 block of CR 320, located near Bertram.
The trial, which was moved to Llano County from Burnet County, started May 19 in State District Judge J. Allan Garrett’s courtroom.
The defense tried to argue the woman shot her husband in self-defense, claiming she was a battered woman.
Prosecutors alleged the woman didn’t kill her husband in self-defense but murdered him. During the investigation, Burnet County deputies recovered some of the woman’s text messages she allegedly sent to a friend just prior to the man’s death that day stating, “Wish I had hogs now..id shoot his fat (expletive) roll him in molasses and feed him to them…Or i can saw him up…so if its (hole in the ground) not big enuf no worries ill dismember him.”
In excerpts of the 9-1-1 call from the night of Allen’s death, the woman told dispatchers her husband produced a gun, she took it away and shot him in the back.

what the hell ? She was literally abused for 10 years by this man. She went to therapists with him and professionals. He had been charged for domestic abuse several times was on 2 year probation. This woman is a victim of circumstance. She had 11 testimonies of the abuse. I believe that she should’ve gotten a shorter sentence. This was obviously not pre-meditated. How many times have you said you were gonna kill someone when you are upset ? Have you been charged for murder ? No. I think its sick that people are saying she got what she deserved.
-p.s. this article is definitely biased
Im glag she got what she deserved je only wanted to give her the best and she killed him i would have been left her crazy ass
I thought Texas had a death penalty for murderers. Perhaps that has changed with the times.
Eye for an eye. She will have to face her punishment before God in due time. Prison is torture and she deserves to rot there. Death would be too good for her.
Sadly murders are at the top of the food chain. She will be respected in jail
True justice will only be realized when those who commit evil crimes against the innocent are no longer alive. In the bible at Psalms 37:10 it says, Just a little while longer and the wicked will be no more, you will look at where they were, and they will not be there. Proverbs 2:22 As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth and the treacherous will be torn away from it
Hopefully the Allen family can have closure knowing that justice prevailed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Thank you to the Burnet Co DA’s office and Kathy Dixon for their diligent work for nearly 2 yrs on this case. Also to the jurors of Llano Co for seeing through all of Trichele’s lies. Hopefully the Allen family can now have closure and that big ol teddy bear, Brian can RIP.
Our God in heaven is indeed good. I’m thankful for the way God has allowed his will to be done for Brian through the decision of the jurors and how he has protected so many other men and women from having to come in contact with Trichelle who has proudly and rightfully been labeled exactly what she truly is….a murderer….a label she has definitely earned well. Thank you God for justice being served and so our friend may now rest in peace. I hope that in time this verdict will also bring Brian’s family some closure and peace as well.
His will should”ve been to prevent the whole encounter.
Score for the prosecution & Brian ‘ s family!
She heartless. How can she talk about doing that to someone. How can she take someones life. Hope she enjoys the rest of her life, atleast she has one still. Rip brian allen. Praying for the allen family.

Finally, it’s about time!
Justice served!!
