SPICEWOOD — The fourth concert of the season for the Spicewood Arts Society features a crowd favorite.
The duo of Christine Albert and Chris Gage takes the stage Jan. 17 at the Spicewood Vineyards Event Center, 1419 CR 409 in Spicewood. The concert is at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m.
“For our 15th season, we’re bringing back acts that went over really well,” said community outreach chairwoman Wanda Rosello. “It’s definitely grown in 15 years.”
The duo performs rock, boogie, swing and country music.
The Spicewood Arts Society began after a conversation among three residents of the town.
“(They) were discussing the fact there wasn’t any live music at that venue,” Rosello said. “It’s grown significantly.”
When the society first began, concerts were held in the Tasting Room of Spicewood Vineyards, which accommodated 60 people. By contrast, the event center seats 250.
The group has sent storytellers to Spicewood Elementary School and awards scholarships to seniors who plan to have a career in the arts, Rosello said. Artists’ works are put on display at the event center.
“It’s our mission to bring art to the community of all ages,” she said. “We have all different kinds of art. We feel that was an area that was unserved.”
