BURNET — Austin singer-songwriter Chris Beall knows the KBEY “Saturday Night Tailgate” crowd. So when he was thinking about where to shoot his next video, he decided the program and KBEY’s Burnet studio would be the perfect backdrop.
“He’s been on the show several times and just likes the setup,” said “Saturday Night Tailgate” co-host Damon Beierle. “So he thought it would be a great place to shoot his next video.”
The video shoot will take place during the Aug. 16 “Saturday Night Tailgate” show, which is held at KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune’s Burnet studio, located at the corner of Washington and Main streets on the courthouse square. The regular “Saturday Night Tailgate” draws a crowd, but Beierle and co-host David Lackey are putting out the call for more folks.
“Just come on out and be in the video,” Beierle said. “It’s always a great time. So just come and have fun.”
Beall plays Americana music with strong Texas roots. His latest album, “The Gin Mill Hymns,” hit No. 15 on the Texas Roots Radio chart and No. 29 on the Roots Rock Radio chart as well as No. 173 on the national Americana chart.
But he climbed to No. 1 on the ReverbNation Americana chart for Central Texas and No. 3 on the national chart.
Beall plays a very personal style of music, drawing materials from his life and the lives of the people around him.
“Chris is an amazing singer and songwriter, so I think people will really enjoy coming out and seeing him,” Beierle said. “Plus, it’s a great chance to be in a video.”

“Saturday Night Tailgate” airs 7-10 p.m. Saturdays, but Beierle said people should start showing up about 6 p.m. Aug. 16 to be part of the video.
The weekly show features some of the newest singers and songwriters on the air. Beierle said they play lots of homegrown Texas music.
