Retiring Llano County constable to be honored with party April 23
FROM STAFF REPORTS
HORSESHOE BAY — A retirement party for Llano County Constable Jerry Drummond is April 23 at the Llano County Annex.
The event is 3-4:30 p.m. at the annex, 101 Ferguson Road, and is hosted by Llano County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Richard Owen, Llano County Commissioner Peter Jones and Llano County Attorney Cheryll Mabray and their staffs.
Drummond served as constable for 19 years and was the Llano County Officer of the Year in 2009.
“He was one of the primary representatives for the eastern part of Llano County,” County Judge Wayne Brascom said. “He’s been very professional in his office. He really functions in a greater capacity than just a constable.”
Brascom said Drummond was instrumental in enforcing public nuisance and traffic laws in the Horseshoe Bay area.
Drummond and his wife, Marian, have lived in Precinct 1 for more than 20 years and were very active in Oak Ridge Estates activities.
