Kayaker lost for several hours on Llano River
FROM STAFF REPORTS
LLANO — A kayaker who was lost for several hours March 23 along the Llano River eventually found help after spotting a remote residence outside of Castell.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens launched a search for the 21-year-old about 3:30 p.m. after two fellow kayakers reported the man missing.
“The three of them got in at County Road 103. They came to a fork in the river. Two went one way. One went the other,” TPWD Capt. Kevin Davis said.
“He ran out of (river) water. He had to drag the kayak until he found a house and called for help,” the captain said.
The search was called off about 7:25 p.m. There were no other reports of injuries.
