BURNET — Although Laami Auctions in Burnet is relatively new, owners Tom and Judi Cook said they plan to remain in the Hill Country for many years to come.

“So far, we’re very pleased with the area,” Tom Cook said. “We love this business, and, in the auction business, you never know what will happen one day to the next, so we’re never bored.”

The Cooks moved to Burnet and opened Laami Auctions in June after working and living in Houston the past 10 years. Before that, the couple owned two antique malls in Kentucky.

Laami Auctions features a variety of items from estate sales, business liquidations, quality consignments and other pieces collected from across the country. The most recent auction featured items such as four classic cars, a motorcycle, a pool table, antique furniture and other collectibles.

Laami Auctions hosts two live auctions a month in its 13,500-square-foot building, located at 2001 Texas 29 West. Doors open at 10 a.m. for previews, and a free lunch is provided before the auction begins at 1 p.m. The next live auction is scheduled for Jan. 26 and will include collectibles and antiques.

Items also are listed on the company’s website, www.laami.com, and bids can be placed online.
