Equipment pickup schedules announced for football squads

BURNET COUNTY — Area football coaches announced schedules for equipment pickup for players for the 2011 season.

Burnet High School head football coach Doyle Walker said sophomores, juniors and seniors should report to the field house, 1000 The Green Mile, at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 1 for equipment.

The Bulldogs will start two-a-days in the weight room at 7 a.m. for strength workouts. Conditioning drills will follow, and the first session will end with an emphasis on offense or defense.

After an hour break, the Bulldogs will head back out to the practice fields for the second session, which will conclude at about noon.

Freshmen are asked to report at 8 a.m.

Walker emphasized athletes should have all paperwork, including physicals, turned in before the start of practice.

Marble Falls Middle School seventh- and eighth-graders are asked to pick up equipment from 8 a.m.-noon Aug. 20 at the coaches’ offices at the middle school, 1511 Pony Circle Drive.
