MARBLE FALLS — A San Antonio woman is behind bars and two men remain at large after police this weekend chased the occupants of truck reported stolen in Bexar County.
During the pursuit, speeds ranged from 25 mph to 90 mph, officers said.
Erica Michelle Rothenberg, 19, is charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and engaging in organized criminal activity. She remained Nov. 22 in Burnet County Jail on bonds set at $5,000 and $3,500, respectively.
Meanwhile, warrants are expected for two men, officers said — a 36-year-old from Devine in Medina County and a 33-year-old from Granite Shoals.
The case began to unfold just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Commerce Street after a patrolman noticed a pickup pulling out of a lot at an unsafe speed, officers said.
The truck eventually stopped for the officer in the 2100 block of U.S. 281, but then sped off again, leading authorities on a pursuit north of the city and onto FM 1855, also known as Fairland Road.
According to reports, a female and a male hurled themselves from the moving vehicle.
The driver then jumped out, and the vehicle crashed into the brush, according to a report.
Authorities caught up to the woman.
The pickup was reported stolen in Live Oak in Bexar County.
Police said they are looking at the trio in connection with at least two vehicle burglaries in the same night.
