KINGSLAND — A Granite Shoals man out of jail for only three days made a return trip to the slammer after leading Llano County deputies on a 45-minute foot chase, law officers said.
Now he's cooling his heels behind bars once more, with bond set at $1.5 million.
On June 15, after being charged with engaging in organized crime, James Wesley Herman Jr., 29, posted a $50,000 bond and walked out of the Llano County Jail.
Three days later, his legal troubles only got worse, deputies said.
The June 18 incident began around 8:36 p.m. when a deputy noticed a Dodge pickup committing a traffic violation in Kingsland, said Llano County Sheriff Chief Deputy Neff.
"When the deputy attempted to stop the driver for the violation, a short vehicle pursuit took place," Neff said June 21.
That chase ended on Noble Street, where the pickup crashed into a travel trailer near Lake LBJ.
