GRANITE SHOALS — The arrest of a suspected drug dealer who threw up in front of police may have put a crimp in area narcotics trafficking, investigators say.

The case has led officers to develop more leads on local drug dealing, said Capt. Clint Low.

“In the last week or so, we’ve made some arrests and are making it very difficult for people to get their drugs,” Low said Dec. 8. “But that’s what we want to do.”

Robert Antonio Gomez, 21, is charged with five counts of drug possession and delivery.

He remains in the Burnet County Jail on bonds totaling $210,000.

According to Low, the case developed when a police officer investigated a suspicious vehicle Dec. 6 at a business in the 6800 block of RR 1431.

Low said the officer located a Cadillac with a driver whose behavior appeared erratic.
