BURNET — The Texas Department of Transportation and state, county and city officials recently dedicated a refurbished 2.7-mile stretch of U.S. 281.
The $4.7 million project was a public/private partnership between TxDOT, the city of Burnet, and property owners in the project area.
Included in the project was the resurfacing of the roadway, drainage improvements, addition of a turn lane from Park Road 4 to Oak Vista Drive and acceleration/deceleration lanes to properties on both sides of the highway.
