BURNET — The Burnet School Board is freezing teacher salaries and contemplating a no-hire policy to offset an anticipated shortfall in state funding.
The School Board also raised the cost of school meals by 25 cents to comply with federal regulations during their meeting May 23.
Though the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District has already spent the last year looking for places to trim the budget, more changes are needed for fiscal year 2011-2012 to control costs, officials said during the meeting May 23.
