Raymond Murski died at an Austin hospital from injuries suffered in the crash, said Police Chief Paul Nelson.

According to police, Murski was traveling north on 281 — which is also listed as Water Street inside the city limits — when his 2011 GMC Yukon drifted into southbound traffic, striking a 2002 Ford sport-utility vehicle about 2 p.m.

Norman Wallace III, 42, of Burnet,  identified as the driver of the second vehicle, was listed in stable condition, the chief said in a press release.

The Burnet Fire Department EMS rushed both men to the hospital, where Murski later died.

An autopsy has been requested, which is standard in many trauma cases, police said.

The investigation continues, Nelson said.

The Department of Public Safety, the Burnet County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department assisted Burnet fire and police, officials said.
