BURNET — Police have seized a seventh rabid skunk, prompting a warning to residents to remain vigilant as cases continue to rise.
Police trapped the animal in the 1300 block of West Buchanan Drive, which is also Texas 29. One rabid raccoon was also seized earlier this year, officials aid.
“It (rabies) is a very serious issue,” Chief Paul Nelson said. “We want to be sure everyone knows not to approach any animal that is acting strangely — day or night.”
