BURNET — Inks Lake State Park is holding several programs and activities during November.
The park is located at 3630 Park Road 4. Entrance fees are $5 for the day for ages 13 and older and $4 a day if staying overnight for ages 13 and older.
Free programs with park entrance fee include:
• Fishing with the Ranger, 4-5 p.m. Fridays: Catch-and-release program. Park supplies fishing poles and worms. Meet behind the park store.
• Stumpy Hollow, 9-10 a.m. Nov. 5: Explore wildlife, flowers, trees and more with a certified Master Naturalist. Meet at the Pecan Flats Trailhead. Bring water and wear closed-toe shoes.
• Walk Off That Turkey Relay, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 26: Meet the ranger at the park store to participate in a family relay from one activity station to the next within the park. Event also includes crafts, a scavenger hunt, fishing and more. Prizes awarded at the finish line.
Hikes include:
• Hike the Hill Country, 1-4 p.m. Nov. 12: Take a challenging 4-mile hike with a Master Naturalist. Route is suited for experienced hikers. Bring water and wear closed-toe shoes.
Programs for a fee include:
• Geology Rocks, 10 a.m.-noon Saturdays: Hike and learn about the geology and rock formations at various places in the park. Meet at the park headquarters with your vehicle to get to the program site. Cost is $3 a person.
• Electric boat cruise, 4-6 p.m. Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26: Sign up for a sunset cruise at the park headquarters and meet behind the park store. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $16-$20.
• Breakfast with the Birds, 8-10 a.m. Nov. 6 and 13: Participate in a bird-watching electric boat tour with a light breakfast. Meet behind the park store. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $16-$20.
• Owl Prowl, 5-6:30 p.m. Nov. 11: Learn about owls and other night creatures on a guided hike. Bring a flashlight. Meet at the park headquarters. Cost is $3 a person.
