BURNET — A new face is coming to the Texas AgriLife Extension Service Burnet County office.
Linda Sue Wells plans to take over as the county's new Family and Consumer Sciences administrator Nov. 1.
"With the experience she has — she is going to be fantastic," County Extension Agent Wade Hibler said. "She is pretty sharp."
Wells will coordinate diabetes education. food protection and financial management and several other programs for residents, officials said.
Also, Wells plans to assist members of 4-H Clubs, Hibler said.
"She will be very much involved with Burnet County 4-H program," he added.
Wells received her master's degree from New Mexico State University in agricultural extension education.
Besides family and consumer sciences, she is certified to teach early childhood development and home economics.
Before coming to Burnet County, Wells worked several years at the New Mexico Cooperative Extension Service as nutrition education program coordinator.
Wells is slated to replace Leticia Rasmussen, who recently announced she plans to become a homemaker.
Through its association with the Texas A&M University system, the extension service is committed to promoting agricultural resources and community economic development across the state.
