BURNET — The city will receive an almost $1.4 million state loan to improve its water system.
The Texas Water Development Board on Sept. 22 approved a $1,375,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund-Disadvantaged Community for the city, according to a news release from the board.
Burnet has had issues with water pressure and quality, and the city will use the money to replace pipes to alleviate the problems, according to officials.
The replacements also will help reduce operation and maintenance costs.
