BURNET — Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church will host a bake sale Sept. 11 for a 2006 Burnet High School graduate suffering from a brain ailment.
The Burnet Knights of Columbus also will hold a pancake breakfast during the bake sale.
The event is 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church, 507 Buchanan Drive.
Linda Salinas was recently diagnosed with lupus cerebritis. Since June, she has been periodically hospitalized in Austin, Dallas and Waco.
The disease has attacked her brain and left her unable to properly function, but she might recover with proper treatments, organizers said.
All proceeds will help the Salinas family pay for medical expenses.
Area churches and community bakers may donate baked goods. Food may be dropped off at the parish hall 8-11 a.m. Sept. 10.
