BURNET — The City Council is on track to keep property taxes at the same level as the last two years, while also seeking additional savings, officials said.
"We are not looking to increase taxes at all," Mayor Gary Wideman said.
However, the council still has more work to do, officials said.
"There are still some (budget) items that need to be addressed," Wideman added.
During a recent workshop at the Burnet Municipal Airport, the council formally proposed a rate of 62.65 cents per $100 of property valuation — the same rate adopted by council members during the past two fiscal years.
