The show is based on a No. 1 New York Times bestseller by Lois Wyse. The musical score is by Robert Waldman.

The cast includes Lacey Smith of Horseshoe Bay as the daughter; Mark Fernandes of Granite Shoals as the son; David Sweigart of Meadowlakes as the grandfather; and Francie Dix and Judy Ridley, both of Horseshoe Bay, and Sally Stemac of Burnet as the grandmothers.

Jerry Morrison of Phoenix is the guest director.

“Grandmother sure isn’t what she used to be, but the more she changes, the more she stays the same,” said Morrison, a former Hill Country Community Theatre regular who now serves as artistic director for the Ironfront Theatre in Helen, Mont. “This show is much more than a celebratory valentine to Grandma."

Morrison, who holds an Master of Fine Arts in directing from Baylor University, is supported by stage manager/assistant director Theresa Bishop of Cottonwood Shores. Kristine Robinson of Horseshoe Bay is the musical director, and Virginia Shoemake of Granite Shoals is the choreographer.

The show will feature live music with Robinson on piano and Al Williams of Meadowlakes on electric bass.
