All-clear given for area evacuated after Burnet work crews hit gas line
BURNET – City emergency officials have issued an all-clear for previously evacuated residents near the south side of the Courthouse Square after a gas line was ruptured.
City workers struck the ATMOS service line during routine maintenance operations earlier Feb. 6 near the Square's south side, officials said. Businesses and homes had to be evacuated.
By afternoon, crews had repaired the pipeline.
A spokeswoman reported no injuries following the mishap.
"The gas line struck by city crews has been capped," Economic Development Director Crista Goble Bromley said.
