HORSESHOE BAY — A Granite Shoals man faces six more charges of possession of child pornography after an investigation uncovered additional information, Police Chief Bill Lane said Jan. 19.
That brings the total number of charges filed against Robert Arteaga, 38, to 24 counts of possession of child pornography, officers added. His bonds total $300,000.
The charges follow a two-month investigation in which a laptop seized from a Horseshoe Bay home contained 18 "graphic" photos of a 15-year-old girl, officers said.
"This case is far from over," Lane said in a news release.
On Dec. 24, police arrested Arteaga, formerly of Horseshoe Bay, on 18 counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation by officers and the Texas Attorney General Office's cyber crime unit.
Arteaga was booked into the Llano County Jail on bonds totaling $270,000 before being transferred to the Burnet County Jail.
On Jan. 18, police tacked on the six new charges and served the felony warrants on Arteaga in the jail, where he remains.
An additional $30,000 has been added to the Granite Shoals man's bond.
