BURNET — A former Granite Country Youth Soccer Association official pleaded guilty in state district court Jan. 19 to sexually assaulting a teenager in return for a sentence that keeps him out of prison.
Todd Freking, 43, accepted a plea deal offering 10 years deferred adjudication and 100 days in the Burnet County Jail — but he had been facing up to 20 years in prison on two counts of sexually assaulting a child. He must also register as a sex offender.
Deferred adjudication often involves probation, treatment or community supervision. If the conditions are met, the charge can be dismissed and the record cleared.
Freking was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl after she came to stay at his Marble Falls home in 2010.
