Bertram mayor says weight is lifted since Attorney General closed investigation of city

JARED FIELDS • PICAYUNE STAFF BERTRAM — The Texas Attorney General’s Office has closed a 10-month investigation into the City of Bertram and former Mayor Winnette Morris, according to officials. The Attorney General began investigating Morris and the city in May 2012 after a whistle-blower lawsuit against Bertram was made that alleged fiscal impropriety.

‘Funny money’ investigation leads to arrest of Bertram man at Marble Falls hotel
